Copy From the Catalog

The Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog is a great source for project ideas. This card made by Tracey Walden was copied out of the current catalog. Tracey didn't have the same exact ingredients so she improvised. I think it turned out great! The new catalog will be available tomorrow, don't you want to see the wonderful new ideas Stampin' Up! has to share?!

Rich Razzelberry Thank You

Rich Razzelberry is a new In-Color that is like no other! Not too bright, it's a very nice shade of purple and goes well with Soft Suede!

Scalloped Edge Store Front

Create your own store front with the Scallop Edge punch. I made a cupcake shop, but a flower shop or pet shop would be cute too. Simply use the Scallop Edge punch on your card stock piece and score between the scallops. Glue the top edge down and use Stampin' Up! Dimensionals on the bottom half to pop out your awning.

Make Your Images Pop!

Make your images stand out with this simple technique. Use your blender pen to outline the image with a very light gray ink; I used Bordering Blue. I also added a little 'ground' for them to stand on.

Sneak Peek!

Circle Circus is one of many great new sets in the upcoming new catalog. I LOVE the patterns inside the circles, and love that they are open to interpretation. Here are a couple ways I've used these awesome circles.

Color Combo: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Soft Suede

The greeting is from a new stamp set called Teeny Tiny Wishes. It is full of awesome greetings with adorable fonts. The Polka Dot ribbon is new too! It's available in all the new In-Colors. Email me if you would like dimensions on this card.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this circle image was a Chinese lantern. Embrace life stamp set worked perfectly for featuring my little Chinese creation. Did you notice the new punch? The new Modern Label Punch fits tons of greetings and is a great way add dimension to your artwork.

Summer Vacation

More Swaps

I love the technique Lara Badanes used on this card featuring Fifth Avenue Floral. She heat embossed the rose with white embossing powder on Regal Rose card stock. Then highlighted the edges of the petals with Regal Rose for a subtle tone on tone.

Swap Cards

Each month our local group of Stampin' Up! Demostrators get together and swap cards to help us get ideas or to have on hand. Everyone gets to vote on the best Wow card and the Most Demonstratable. Both winners are in my downline! These are a few of the cards from last nights event.

Trini Sents won for best Wow! I really like this layout, especially for announcements or invitations. Trini heat embossed the star and added glitter!

No Ink Pads Necessary!

It's true! This sample was made using only a Versamark Pad and Stampin' Up! Pastels.

Instructions:

1. Make a template for the fish bowl by cutting a circle out of a piece of Vellum with my Circle Scissors Cutter and then used the Word Window Punch to create the lip on the bowl.
2. Lay the template down on Whisper White card stock (creating a mask) and began to fill inside of the fish bowl with pastels using Sponge Daubers. A little Night of Navy around the edges and Bashful Blue water.
3. Stamp the fish using Versamark in the bowl, and use a Sponge Dauber to dab on color. The color will adhere to the image. Repeat for additional fish.
4. Last stamp the greeting using Versamark and apply color using a Sponge Dauber. Note: Colors tend to leave little residue on the card stock. This can easily be removed with the eraser provided with the pastels. A smaller applicator, like a Qtip, may help as well.

A Different Layout

Just Buzzin By stamp set was used to make this card with a unique design. I found this lovely card while surfing the net late one night and just had to make it! This layout could work well with many stamp sets.

The card base itself does not open, as you may have noticed. The following are the card layout dimensions so you can make one for yourself, with no thinking involved! Although you need to be careful when adhering your top layer so you don't glue your card shut.

Basic Black card stock base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
So Saffron: 4" x 8"; scored at 5 1/4"
Basic Black layer: 3 1/4" x 4"
Very Vanilla: 3" x 3 3/4"

The jar and shadow were colored in with Close to Cocoa and Bordering Blue Classic Ink Pads and an Aquapainter. The rest was colored in with Stampin' Write markers. To make it a little extra special, I added Crystal Effects to the dripping honey and the bee's wings. Glitter was also added to the bee's wings.

I loved this card so much that I decided to use it as my swap card for tomorrow night's Demonstrator Card Swap! I will be sure to post the cards I get in exchange from my fellow demos.

Many Uses for Versamark

Most people think of heat embossing when it comes to using Versamark. My Versamark pad is one of my favorite ink pads because it is so versatile! Versamark is great for a tone on tone look, for use with Heat & Stick Powder to adhere glitter, and with your Stampin' Pastels. It can also be used to resist ink like I've done with the above card. Simply stamp your image with Versamark onto Shiny White Cardstock. Then sponge the area with your desired Classic ink pads, and wipe away the excess!
