New Catalog Sneak Peak
So pretty! The new Designer Series Paper and Dream du Jour stamp set compliment each other. I love rose gardens and this designer paper gives me the same warm fuzzy feeling as being in my grandmother's garden.Look closely at the ribbon (click on picture to enlarge). This isn't new. I used a blender pen and the Kiwi Kiss ink pad and colored the edges of my white grosgrain ribbon to match my card! Now I can have ribbon to match in any color I want.
Do you love this stamp set and can't wait for the new catalog? Book a workshop with me and earn products for free! You will see why everyone enjoys my hands on workshops.
The colors on this card are the new in colors Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red.

Storage Solutions

I’m so excited about a new way that I’m storing items in my stamp room that I wanted to share! I have a very small room, which is also our guest room. Fortunately I have a closet, but there are only so many shelves so I needed to hang some things. With little wall space and it being a guest room I decided to work with the closet. Okay now I’m gonna ramble a bit...
I got the idea to hang up a sheet of metal on the inside of my closet door using over-the-door hooks (no holes…yay!). My husband had to trim one side with tin snips (I think!) so it would fit. He drilled two holes at the top; I finished them off with Jumbo eyelets and used ribbon to hang it. Now the cool part! I had purchased super strong magnets at Lowes Hardware and so I began putting things up. I glued magnets to the lids of my SU containers that contain buttons, etc. The brads didn’t need magnets glued because they are metal and therefore stuck to the magnets with no glue (duh!). I also purchased some magnetic hooks and a couple of locker baskets for ribbon spools I found at Target in the school section (loves these!). The baskets have a lip on the bottom so my spools don’t roll out. The magnets on the baskets weren’t strong enough to hold all that ribbon so I had to add some of the strong ones with Crystal Effects. I also found that long ribbon scraps rolled up fit nicely into SU’s containers (see pic). I will definitely be ordering more containers from SU…they are priced well! (I’ve been looking). The Hodgepodge kit has no magnets glued to it either. There are magnets between the sheet metal and the kit, but no adhesive is necessary. Unfortunately my other Silver Hodgepodge kit doesn’t seal as tightly so I can’t hang it up.
This was definitely not an expensive project and super easy. I have more items I need to put up, but I’m out of magnets!

Water Coloring Made Simple

I received the new In Colors yesterday and had to play! This card features the new colors Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Tangerine Tango.
I love to watercolor and Stampin' Up! makes water coloring so easy! I colored this in using my ink pads and Aquapainter. Aquapainters are wonderful because you can paint without sitting with a cup of water. It takes the mess out of painting!
First, stamp an outlined image using Stazon Ink onto watercolor paper. Take your SU ink pad and while closed, press the lid into the pad. When you open up your ink pad you will notice an ink spot on the inside of your lid. Simply dip your Aquapainter into the spot and color in your image! To change colors, brush your Aquapainter on a scrap piece of watercolor paper or cardstock until the color runs out. Then pick up your next color.
Tip: I find it easier to 'paint' the image with no color first (water only). Wait until the shine on your watercolor paper goes away (doesn't take long), and then paint the image. To darken your image; wait until dry and add another layer.
Have questions? Send me an email or give me a call. I'm always here to help!
This card features the stamp set 'Wonderful You'.

Priceless Swap Card
This Priceless card looks more whimsical in person with the glittery butterflies. I used masking and the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the butterfly trails exactly where I wanted them. For those of you who don't know what masking is: it's when you use a scrap piece of paper (or post-it) to block off a portion of the image you don't want to show. I blocked off the curly cues at the top of the design so my trails would appear more directional. Of course the Stamp-a-ma-jig always comes in handy for the perfect placement.
Colors include: Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange, Pixie Pink, and Basic Black.
